The tracks on Labyrinth show an alternate side of East Bay Ray, a side that would not surprise fans familiar with the psychedelic sounds of his guitar playing in Dead Kennedys. The recordings are a collection of material from different times and places. Some were recorded on analog tape, with all the warm character and random sounds that materialize around the edges of analog. Others were recorded digitally and then processed and manipulated later. Though mostly instrumental, there is one vocal track with poet Bana Witt. The tracks embody different styles such as modal harmonies, polyrhythms, and tape-manipulation. Please enjoy.
